Flowers to our April 5th volunteers!

 

On a rain-threatened morning Saturday, April 5, about TWENTY of you hardy souls turned out to work on the gravel path project!  The Seattle Conservation Corps (SCC) had requested volunteers clear the path from the entrance near the dog park to the north end of the garden but with all this talent, they cleared not only that but the interior ADA path as well.  We started at 9:00 AM and the serious rain did not start until we were finished at noon.  The SCC folks are going to be amazed.

Spring Cleaning with Outdoors for All Foundation

Thank you to Molly Harrigan for sending us photos from the April Outdoors for All Foundation spring cleaning. A group of their campers came over to give us a hand preparing the raised beds for spring.

Looks like the campers had a wonderful time working the garden.

 We are very grateful for all the help!!!

Seattle Day of Caring & Fall Equinox - Friday Sept 21st

We've two events coming up on Friday, September 21st that we are really excited about.

 

DAY OF CARING - volunteer workparty.

We've been selected as a site for the Seattle Day of Caring. The Seattle Times will be sending 12 volunteers to work in our garden. Our plan is to work on all the garden borders. We'd love to have gardener volunteers to help guide and supervised the work crews.

We've two shifts that need volunteers:

9:00-11:00am - assist with waiver sheets, garden tours and getting the groups started.

11:00-2:00pm - supervised work parties, times include a 1 hour lunch break. Please bring your lunch with you.

We'd LOVE to have at least 2 volunteers per time slot. It's an excellent way to earn some hours.

FALL EQUINOX POTLUCK - starting at 6:00pm

We are holding our annual Fall Equinox potluck in the Tranquil Garden (or Brigg if it is bad weather). Bring a dish to share. It'll be fun to include ingredients from your garden.

Volunteer Hours Reminder

The gardening season is flying by fast. Reminder that 4 hours of your community service are DUE by June 30th.

Four hours of your community service must be performed for the Magnuson P-Patch. The other four hours can be contributed to other parts of the Magnuson Community Garden.
