My Desert Island CD collection

  • Beth Orton -

    Beth Orton: Daybreaker
Music I like to work and create to.

  • Cowboy Junkies -

    Cowboy Junkies: The Trinity Session
This is a classic album. Haunting and timeless.

  • Dave Matthews -

    Dave Matthews: Some Devil
Ah, Dave. More moody, more exposed, more beautiful.

  • Dead Can Dance - LIVE -

Dead Can Dance - LIVE: Towards the Within
Dead Can Dance music to me is primal. It keys into an ancient part of the body and soul. I saw them live at the Paramount many years ago. It was a spiritual experience. Gorgeous version of "Wind that Shook the Barley". Incredible.

  • Nine Inch Nails - LIVE -

Nine Inch Nails - LIVE: And All That Could Have Been
Ok - If I am stuck on a desert island I imagine some anger and aggression will need to be worked out. Trent is definitely the man for that task!!!

  • Norah Jones -

Norah Jones: Come Away with Me
I know this not a very obscure pick. To be fair I had this album months before she became an international sensation. Her piano and breathy voice is perfect for getting frisky, dinner parties, staying in bed & reading the sunday paper....nearly anything that you want to slow down and enjoy.

  • Pearl Jam -

Pearl Jam: Live at Benaroya Hall
Set in our symphony hall, Chuck & I so wanted to attend this concert. Pearl Jam live and accoustic. Beautifully done boys, beautifully done.

  • The Cure -

    The Cure: Disintegration
This is my favorite album of all time. The Cure at their heartbreakingly best. These songs are my soul sisters. Many a heartache has been scored by this album. All time favorite is "Pictures of You" - I forgive you for using it to hock digital photography. The latest favorite is "Untitled". "Hopelessly adrift in the eyes of the ghost again. Down on my knees and my hands in the air again. Pushing my face in the memory of you again. I never know if it's real. Never know how I wanted to feel." Poetry.

  • Tori Amos -

    Tori Amos: Little Earthquakes
Tori - my heart sings with Tori's wrenching, raw and bold debut. I'll follow Tori wherever she wants to take me. However, I always come back here. These songs are like pages ripped out of my life.
